Types of Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition that affects more than six million people in the USA.

Plaque psoriasis is the most common form characterized by inflamed lesions covered with white scales. Psoriasis can be limited to a few spots may lead to moderate or large areas of skin.

There are 5 types of psoriasis:

  1. Plaque Psoriasis is the most common form of psoriasis.
  2. Guttate Psoriasis is characterized by small punctate lesions.
  3. Pustular Psoriasis is characterized by weeping lesions and intense scaling.
  4. Erythrodermic Psoriasis is characterized by intense sloughing and inflammation of skin.
  5. Inverse Psoriasis is characterized by intense inflammation and little scaling.
