
There are many different types of cancer, but skin cancer is the most common of all. It is mainly caused by exposure to UV (Ultraviolet) light in the sun, skin cancer has become the concern of developing countries in many countries around the world and skin cancer is increasing every year.
Three common types skin cancer:
Basal Cell Carcinoma
BCC generally resembles a small, raised, smooth, bright red or pink bumps on the skin of the shoulders, ears, hands, head, face or neck that is exposed to sunlight.
- Central Depression with bleeding (ulcers) often develops.
- The little blood vessels may be visible within the tumor.
Squamous Cell Carcinoma
SCC is usually pink, well-defined, red, scaling, thickened lump or patch on sun exposed skin. These clots most commonly affects the face, neck, ears, lips, shoulders, arms, legs and hands.
- SCCS can bleed easily and cause ulcers just like BCC.
- SCC may be a larger mass, if left untreated.
Melanoma
Turning to discuss the most dangerous type of skin cancer, it was shown that most malignant melanomas are in the form of lesions, which are pigmented, brown or black.
- Variations in color, shape, height or size of a mole.
- Changes lesions are asymmetric, ie half a different look from the side of the lesion.
- Irregular margins, which may be notches border irregularity.
- Lesions that are a mixture of colors like white, red, blue, beige, black or brown.
- Lesions greater than 6 mm in diameter.
